Hatoway Insurance Partners, Inc., an independent agent representing Cincinnati Insurance, is currently collecting information about the situation regarding the Strand Theatre and the adjoining building at 15 W Broadway Street, Shelbyville, IN. We were made aware of a possible condemnation of the building that is adjoining the Strand Theatre on Friday, 4/25/2025 at 3:53PM. At that time, we contacted Cincinnati Insurance at the Strand’s request to determine what coverage would apply if the building was deemed condemned. We were informed that underwriting action would be taken on the policy if the building in which the Strand Theatre operates is deemed unsafe by local government. As of today 4/29/2025, the insurance policy for the Strand Theatre has not been cancelled and no action has been taken on the policy. The City of Shelbyville has not provided us with information that the building where the Strand Theatre currently operates is condemned. Hatoway Insurance Partners, Inc. has partnered with the Strand Theatre since 2006 and are working diligently to provide the Strand Theatre, the City of Shelbyville, and Cincinnati Insurance with all the information needed as this continues.
